WeWork is giving its hundreds of thousands of members enhanced flexibility and choice by entering an exclusive, strategic partnership with Upflex, home to the largest flex space network in the world.
As the world transitions to hybrid work, companies are looking for more global coverage, better workspace options, easier tech solutions, more security and privacy, and a more seamless booking experience. Rising to these demands, leading flexible space provider WeWork Inc. today announced an exclusive strategic partnership with Upflex. Together, the two flex workspace companies will establish a combined global network of workspace on demand, joining their portfolios together into one massive marketplace of options for remote and hybrid workers.
Through the partnership, WeWork and its hundreds of thousands of members will gain access to Upflex’s fast-growing, aggregated portfolio of thousands of third-party spaces, provided by over 700 flex space operators across 80 countries. That means users of both Upflex and of WeWork get broader global coverage and more choice.
For our Space Partners: Upflex will be the exclusive coworking aggregator to access WeWork’s global inventory, opening the door for all of Upflex’s space operators to a new world of demand: All of the coworking brands our network will now have access to WeWork’s community of more than 28,000 member companies around the world. For our users: This is good news for Upflex customers, too: The collaboration allows users to book workspace at WeWork locations through the Upflex platform. This will be the first time WeWork has allowed workspace bookings from a third-party platform.
Likewise, WeWork will be the exclusive flex workspace operator to sell Upflex inventory to its members. They’ll give their hundreds of thousands of members a streamlined experience that will now leverage Upflex’s technology, Upflex’s security and privacy, and our vast network of workspace on demand. With Upflex’s worldwide network of space partners now at its disposal, WeWork members can choose from a wider array of tailored, flexible space solutions to best fit their specific real estate requirements.
WeWork will also participate in Upflex’s Series A funding, alongside other investors.
“We are pleased to invest in and partner with the great team at Upflex, whose vast network of flexible office locations and offerings are a strong addition to WeWork’s portfolio,” WeWork CEO Sandeep Mathrani said. “As we look to the future of work, this partnership will not only drive more value in our own product offerings for WeWork members, but also promote a more innovative and collaborative flex ecosystem that is continually thinking of new ways to better serve the workforce.”
Upflex CEO Christophe Garnier said this partnership is a huge step forward for Upflex’s space partners, who will see huge demand growth, and for Upflex’s users, who will now have WeWork’s network of spaces at their disposal, too, for even more global reach and even more options. “WeWork and Upflex share the same goal: to create a better workplace for everyone,” Garnier said. “We are excited to take the industry to a new level by matching the largest players in supply and demand together.”
